Google Hangouts

Google+... is it even active anymore?

I'd have to say, and probably argue, yes, but you have to use it for the correct reasons and certain outcomes. Google+ is great to share and embed your Google Hangouts and Google Hangouts Live, but it's not as active as Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest. You have to understand that these are completely different beasts when it comes to online marketing.

You will need to use Google+ for your syndication needs of course. However, use Google Hangouts as a connection bridge between you and your consumers or clients. Google Hangouts can be used to hold weekly webinars, weekly questionnaires, company meetings or client meetings. The list goes on. Just make sure to make those meetings private when you are done because the Google Hangout uploads immediately to Youtube.

Some may think this is a bad thing. I beg to differ. This is awesome. Google owns Youtube so just go along with the method to the madness. You rarely see Vimeo, Daily Motion or any other video hosting company ranking above Youtube. So use this to your advantage when hosting your Google Hangouts. Make sure to optimize your videos as you would normally on Youtube but now they are Google Hangouts! This is a really cool scenario once you get it down.
